question on new build

I am contemplating a small build for stove top use. I am looking at a 2L boiling flask. I was originally wanting to use an erlenmeyer flask; however, I now believe a boiling flask would be a much better choice. What do you'll think about this? I am a complete rookie and just want to get me feet wet. I have provided a link for the specs (

It seems to be a lot easier than going through the process to attach a column to ss pot. I appreciate any help or information. Thanks.

G'day cornfan. Two litre flask is too small for decent results. Cuts would be nigh on impossible.
A broken glass flask full of hot wash and ethonol vapour sounds pretty dangerous to me. What do you think?

Greetings, corn fan...
A 2 liter boiler is just too small... An 8 - 10 liter boiler is about the smallest practical boier size with about 6 liters being the absolute minimum... A 2 liter boiler filled with 10% wash would yield roughly 200ml of alcohol, but only about 60ml of that would be drinkable...
Take some time to do research here in the forums as well as reading the parent site, several times, and you see that small is not the way to go... You'll also gain an understanding of the entire process...
Good luck...

Thanks for the replies. I was also worried about the small size, I just was trying to come up with an easy, small set-up for the stove top. I've been trying to read all I can from all the net sites and have a few books in bound. It will take some time to wrap my head around this one. I was leaning towards the boiling flask thinking it was ok heat wise and would also be able to see what is happening with the wash. I assumed that would be any easy way to make sure you did not run it too long. I didn't want to put the money out for a nice milk can or keg and burner setup to begin with. I wanted to make sure it was going to be successful before spending more. Do you'll think a ss pot would be best? If so, what is the best way to attach a 1" or 2" column?
