Carbonate Smell

Hi All,
I did a run with a lot of tails and such that I had left over and I must have put too much carbonate in one of the bottles. When I ran it, I got the vaguest whiff of it, but it got worse as it cooled. I kept this all in a 95% bottle and collected down to low %'s. The low wines dont smell like it at all, but the top of the run smells like soap. Just a little. I dont think it burped ot threw up while I was running and I did do a slow warmup.
Im thinking I could dilute it and run it again ( no carbonate this time).
Any thoughts? Anyone ever had the smell of the carbonate come across ins a reflux run?
Am I going to have to throw away an entire gallon of 95% hard won hooch?
