Thermometer

Hello,

I'm thinking of adding a thumper to my pot still, but I'm now unsure as to where I should attach my thermometer. I've seen other pics on Tony's site using thumpers, with only a thermometer in the main pot. BUT I was thinking, If a thumper acts as a second 'plate' (a la reflux still) shouldn't I be using the temperature of the gas coming out of the thumper?
