Looks like your going to have to build a taller fence. :)

Very nice! Looks like she works well!

What's the extra doodad on the top of the reflux? Looks like a safety valve?

Hooch.

That little doodad is actually just a pressure vent that I attach a old police whistle to so if I am loosing vapor it will warn me. Kind of like a tea kettle. If I hear that I know I need check heat or cooling water. Just kind of a safety.

Love the idea of the pressure/whistle. Almost hate to ask if it has "gone off" yet?

Your outdoor scene shows more daring than I could get away with in my neighborhood. In fact, the law lives right next door, so "low profile" is a must!

The only time the whistle has gone off was during my cleaning run i shut the water off to simulate loosing my cooling water. It blew like hell.

Nice lookin still there Shinner! I need to get some of that insulation for mine.

Speakin of neighbors...
I tell yall what, it aint hard to spread the smell of corn likker all over the neighborhood if you're not careful.

I was doing a run of UJSM a month or two ago , it was a nice warm breezy day and I left the shed door open while I walked up to the street to the the mailbox (gotta be about 200 feet) .....I grabbed the mail and turned around as said "damn, I smell shine!" ....oops .... luckily I don't have any close neighbors, but I'm just sayin.

Ive never smelled mine while cooking. I would think if your smelling it you must be loosing some vapor.

Nice still Kentucky and so closed to the pool, you don't have problems with cooling water, don't ya?

Beautiful back ground for the NY Times reporters when taking pics. :)

I don't believe the smell comes from the still unless you stop the cooling system.

It can be dunder or ferment

One of the things we have to remember about vapor is that you can't see it.
People think they see steam but steam is actually "invisible" what you see is the vapor condensing back to water, water vapor.
When your driving down a road on a hot day and you see the wobbly effect along the ground you are seeing steam refracting in the sunlight.

If you have to check for leaks the best method is the mirror method.
A cool temp. glass mirror passed around your joints will allow any escaping vapor to build up on it.
