So I'm building both! OK Gurus of the distilling world, this is my first time with this stuff, so don't pull any punches. I decided to build a Bokakob design as well as a straight up pot design, All I'm lacking is the hardware to fasten either one to the keg. What about the column lengths? Too long? Too short? Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

Maybe we are different here in OZ, but our eyes are side by side not one above the other.

Can you lower the resolution on your Apple iPhone. They are very big images.

Nice looking stand. Is it stable? Last thing you want is to be able to knock it over easily.
I like the way you attached the liebig. Because it is facing down, be extra careful that you don't spill it straight towards the flame.
Is that last shot a stripping/potstill mode. Dang thats a tall column if it is. 18" of 2" and an elbow will get you any angle on the leibig you want.

All up looking good. Flush it out with vinegar and letterrip

Nice work, Byubuk, but bigger isn't always better...

Your pot still column is about twice as tall as it needs to be unless you're looking to get neutral spirits from a pot still with almost no flavor... Same goes for the liebig...

Can't tell from the picture how tall your Bokakob is but anything beyond ~48" of packed column is of little benefit... The product liebig is WAY overkill there too... A short liebig, between 6" - 12" constructed of 1/4" inside 1/2" should be more than enough...

Do a search on easy flange. There is a topic on flanging the end of yer collumn. That will show you how. Get yer self a triclamp to fit and couple it right to yer keg. cork/flour,water gasket and yer in bizness.

Looks good, as rad said the pot head is a little long but that's ok run it, if you don't like the performance you can shorten it latter.

I do have to say, Back when I ran gas I would have liked to have your burner/stand. It looks really nice

Thanks for the input guys. I left em both long until I got some comments. My dad used to own a plumbing business, and I actually scrounged up most of the fittings in some of his old stuff I have stored in my shed. I probably could have bought new ones if I take in to account the time I spent cleaning up the old ones, They are probably 30 years old or older!
The burner is constructed of 3/4" stainless tubing, and has served my 100 quart crawfish boiling pot well, so it should have no problem with the keg. It actually folds up for storage also.

If you go to http://www.milehighdistilling.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow they sell a sanitary clamp and stainless threaded ferrel that will fit 2" copper pipe.

I bought one and it fits like a hot damb!

Did a cleaning run last night on the pot still (after shortening the height as suggested). 1 gallon of venigar in 2 gallons of water with about a cup of peroxide. The innards of all the piping is nice and pink. I ran this for about 45 minutes. Is this long enough?

Now run a few gallons of water through it and then a cleaning run and you should be good to go.

Thats a lot of copper...

I always do a alcohol run. Nothing cleans better then that.
