Putting stuff inside your thumper?

Post by snookfinken »

I am just now getting started on doing runs and have a thumper on my newest rig. This got me thinking could you put stuff in your thumper like berries, fruit, oak etc in the thumper for taste and flavor. I guess it would work sort of like putting mash in it. I was thinkin about putting water/soaked JD chips in my thumper for flavor in my thumper on my next run. Just wanted to see if anybody has tried this and what their results were.

Thanks again,

Yes you can.
Although, if you use fruit,,be carefull with the skins left on. Can come across in your likker kinda "green" tasting as the vapor really strips away the good and the bad. Strawberrys did not fare well for me either.

Put some pear necter in that thumper and run some diluted nuetural through.
Comes across with a very delicate nose. Quite pleasant IMO.

Oh nice good. I thought it would work. I think I am also gonna try brown sugar/molasses. I figure that oaked a little bit will taste pretty darn good.
