Packing

A friend of mine is a engineer and can lay his hand's on alot of stainless steel "swarf". Would this be suitable for packing??
Cant seem to find any 100% copper scrubbie's here in NZ and dont want to have to pay for the stainless one's if the Swarf will do?

Id say yes as long as it is not so fine that it chokes your colum.

SS turnings will work well as long as you wash the machine oil off well... Milling chips should be avoided as they compact too densely and will invoke flooding...

They were the 2 concern's I had. I'll ask him to be selective on what he get's for me then.
