yup, you guessed it, i'm from the mid west.
So here is the deal. I love building things / making things happen. If i enjoy doing something i like to be able to do it from scratch and on my own.
I guess it is that out look on life that brought me to this amazing forum. I love to have a drink so I decided to go about makin boose my self.
Now i have successfully fermented 5 gall of birdwatchers sugar wash (i know, the good ole case of puttin the cariage before the horse), acquired a 15.5 gal beer keg (legally) and appropriate triclamp hardware to attach a 2" column.
I went to the hardware store with a hefty chunk of cash to buy copper and try to build my still today but as luck would have it the only source i have found local for 2" copper pipe is a whole seller who only sells it in 20' pieces. needless to say i dont need that much (yet) and wasnt caryin a hefty enough chunk of cash to cover the cost of 20' at $10/ft.
So are any of yall aquainted with creative ways to aquire the needed supplies?
My plan is to build a simple dual slanted plate boka head for my still leaving the bottom of that 13" piece of pipe threaded so that i can screw it directly on to my keg/tri clamp kit for use as a pot still or have the option of building a reflux column to screw on between the boiler and the boka head for use as a reflux still.
Thanks for readin, any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated and thank you so very much for the wealth of information on this forum, its quite the treasure trove.
