Aging/oaking in big aluminium pot.

Post by Austin Nichols »

Hey All,

I've done a heap of rum and need something big to age and oak it in, all I have at hand is a big ally 30 liter stock pot.

It's really thick and high quality, do you think this would be ok?

I'll wait to see what the consensus is before I commit to using it.

Cheers.

ok I thought so but was hoping otherwise, I dont have a big enough glass container to use.

I've got about 15 to 20 liters to do, and was hoping I could do it all in the one container.

Thanks.

   yep got a couple, but one is full of feints and the other is needed for the still.

It's all good now, I managed to bottle everything I had in my 5 liter demijohns so my rum is oaking now.

I know where to get kegs, I seen these the other day when I was in the big smoke, they're right next door to the company my mrs works for.......she's investigating :D
