Ecuador in big shit

Post by rednose »

Since the morning the National Police is in strike, many banks and shops all over the country have been robbed as there is no police.

They asalted a business of a friend of mine and ran with 30 k $. :(

It looks like the situation ran completely out of the hands of the goverment, anything can happen.

I neither like the social way the actual president is running, socialismn produces lazy people, but I'm not fine with what is happening at this moment.

We (Joe and his wife) are safe at home, we are living in the fields about 15 car minutes of the town.

The situation is getting really dramatic, there is almost no traffic, they sent the kids back from school and suspended classes till second orden.

Almost all shops are closed all over the country, we are complete paralized now.

The airports and airlines don't operate neither.

The OEA (Organizacion de Estados Americanos) just started an emergency session.

Here at home it's very quiet, only one TV channel is running, the Gov channel all others are forbidden to stream any signal from whats happening.

Thanks Samohon, all will be fine. :)

Yes, it has , the Fuerzas Armadas are with the president and are in charge for the public security at this moment.

Thanks all, I have my guns loaded just in case. 8)

The real problem is that we are helpless without police and criminal elements are in paradies now.

Shit Joe, that sounds nasty. It's lucky you are allowed to have firearms. The Australian conservative government confiscated ours some ten or more years back. :( Good luck.

Shit, in front of a Police Hospital where they cured the president after he got hurt intenting to talk with the folks (and he's still there) the Militar and police are in war.

They shoot machine guns, have snipers in position, all is in gas bomb smoke.

They are trying to salve the president.

Incredible really, and all is shown in TV.

Would it be wise to leave EC for your own safety until things quieten down?

too late.
Air force troops shut down Quito's Mariscal Sucre airport as the protests began Thursday morning. Dozens of flights were canceled and it was unclear when international service would be restored to the Quito, Guayaquil and Manta airports.

The head of Ecuador's civil aviation authority, Fernando Guerrero, said in a statement that international operations were suspended at the latter two airports "due to the lack of immigration and counternarcotics personnel."

Not all guns are banned in Oz. If you have a license then keep it. If you don't then go through the hoops an hurdles and get one.

My sympaty Austin. Regisered gun owners are on crimtrack http://www.crimtrac.gov.au/about_us/index.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow ; but they don't say so in their spindoctorin.
Being a legal gun owner is sorta like being on the sexoffenders register.
