Just thought I'd log-in and say hello from Central Florida. I've been brewing beer for a couple of years and I'm anxious to make the jump to spirits. Looks like there's a ton of good information I need to digest before getting started. Cheers!

Is you a cracker or a transplant?

No sir I ain't no Cracker, I'm a Tarheel originally from eastern N.C.; moved to Brevard county in '83 and now make my home and raise my family in Lake county. My young-uns is Crackers.

Rumor has it that my great grand father used to make some fine apple brandy. My daddy had a short stint as a boot-legger selling 'shine from the back of a convertable at a local airstrip near White Lake, NC where folks would go to get airplane rides. Back in the day his uncle worked for Percy Flowers up in Johnston county who was "allegedly" one of the biggest moonshiners in the state back in the 40's, 50's & 60's.

My folks are from SC origially. Not to many bonafied cracker families in this state. specially the farther south you git.

So what kind of likker are you planning on makin?

Percy Flowers is a name we know around here.

I'm new to the site also & I can say I've got alot of help on here from the info and the members are great. Any ideas on what type of still you are leaning to for your first?

I'm probably leaning towards a simple pot still and I hope to make some corn likker, peach and apple brandy.
