Nope, throwing out a lie'n mayor. I do not live in Omaha, and the fuk put a $50 a month tax on me. I got more than enough to deal with it, but it PISSED me off (super pissed). I am fighting really really hard to send a strong message to the local gooberment that the people who they WORK for, are damn pissed, and will NOT put up with biz as usual. If I had my druthers, I would simply see him, the city council and about 20% of the admin staff, stripped, dipped in hot tar, covered in feathers, and dropped off at the edge of town with a warning that if they tried to sneak back in, that they would be shot! Hey, but that is just me.
Fukin pollies. They forget that about 240 years ago or so, a few pissed gents killed a few brits over a tiny little tax, and started this experiment. 'bout fukin time they remember, or it may be their bloody head on a pike at the edge of town (not that im pissed or anything

).

Guess I should calm and read the rules a little, lol.
Cut this from the other good topic, since I took it so far off topic.

I've always said that when the general population gets mad enough, and the powers that be don't listen, they will start voting from the rooftops... We've had issues with our state government for years because all of the elected officials head to the capitol and never get any work done... They get their pay plus ~$170+ per diem for every day they are away from home on state business... And they may only go into session for two minutes so they can vote that they aren't going do any of the peoples work and then promptly leave... Pick a few of them off on the capitol steps with head shots and maybe the rest of them will decide to stay inside and do some work... That's voting from the rooftops... I feel the same way about leaving a few corpses hanging off the US/Mexican border fences in an effort to deter illegal border crossings...
Sometimes doing what is considered politically correct, by the boxed in laws we have, just doesn't work... You won't get eggs if you let the fox guard the hen house... But I digress...
Good luck, Husker... I have a feeling you're gonna need it...

MY Plan:
1. Make Lobbyists illegal
2. 10% Flat tax for everyone. I dont care who you are. Includes businesses too. Tax preparation is now a thing of the past.
3. No breaks for Congress. Session lasts all year.
4. Any business or person that attempts to influence a gov official shall be subject to a fine of no less than 1000 times the monetary value of the service/product/energy/benefit.
5. Congressman, Senators and Representatives will still be elected, but will be paid a base salary and not be allowed commercial holdings.
6. Prisoners will be required to work an 8 hour day, just like everyone else.
7. Medical persons will become public servants and will be grouped in with police, fire and emergency workers. Caps and protections will be placed so that lawsuits will be a thing of the past.
8. Serious crimes will be dealt with as such: First time? You get time and a chance. Second time? Put you to sleep.
9. Rape will be elevated in terms of its perceived seriousness. See above
10 and lastly....we need to get our fuckin space program back on line so I can leave this friggin ball of dirt and go find someplace sane!

I was gonna ignore this thread 'till I saw this one line.
Yer jokin', right? The destitute Mexican Citizens, opressed by their corrupt government, who are only tryin' to feed their malnurished babies are the villians to be left on the fence for the birds to eat???!!!
No way! The Mexican Federal Government is the villian. The Mexican Government that lines their pockets from the public coffers, does NADA for the people, and is weak and totally ineffective against the drug gangs.
The drug gang violence that is now spreadin' acros OUR borders.
Poor starvin' Mexicans aren't the problem. Their ineffectual and boldy corrupt government is. Recently a Mexican drug gang planned to blow up a dam in Texas because their rival Mexican drug gang was down stream. Their were also roughly a million Texans downstream, but that was of no concern to the drug gang. I have no problem considerin' blowin' up that dam a terrorist action.
The world trade center got destroyed by terrorists. Mostly Saudi's... yet we are fightin' wars in Iraq and Afganistan in the name of fightin' "terrorism". LOL!
Why aren't we at war with Mexico? We could wax them EASY. Super easy. And there would be no reason for us to hand it all back afterwards. The US could go from 50 to 59 States in nada flat! Mexicans have a GREAT work ethic, and are more interested in family and work than anythin' else. They would be a great shot in the arm for the American culture.
Also if we took Mexico, not only would our Mexican Illegal Imagrant problem dissapear (and their standard of livin' vastly improve), but Central America, and that bastard Chaves in South America, would have their eyes opened and be given fair warnin'.

As much as I like my original rant, and I tried to start this without any far left, far right, dark blue, dark purple, bright red, martian, moonian type bias (and those 'type' biases are what cause polli threads to spiral into a flame war), people posting rules warnings ARE right. Things have certainly gone into an area and direction which caused us to originally put up 'the rules'.
Thus, this thread will now be stopped. I know people ARE fed up, but it is simply not really possible to have a 'generic' rant against the power, and have the thread work. It always seems to be taken into directions that do start to show those left/right blue/red etc biases which simply fan the flames.
