Prior to finding this useful web forum, I constructed ( but not yet used) a pot still out of an alluminum 20 qt PSI cooker. After all the posts here, I see I wasted my time and $$. Someone please tell me I can use this at least for stripping runs, and save that until I go stainless.
I am a home beer brewer, and as many folks know, some of our batches ( 10-12 gallon) are not as tastey as we planned. I normally use these as fertilzer --ha ha. My main purpose for distiling is to have an alternate to filling my yard with spent grains, and off flavored beer.
I have about 40+ gallons of frankenstein beer, and running out of containers to keep my beer in. Will the alluminum go into the distillate permanently, or can I "clean " it out later with a better reflux still?
Alluminum for stripping runs?
