One thing I've noticed in all the posts about using a reflux column, is everyone says close the output valve and open the reflux fully and let the column equalize for half an hour or so. Then pull off your foreshot. I do it a little different. I leave my reflux valve shut and open my output valve until I see my 100ml of foreshot in my collection vessel. I start to get shit coming off sometimes as low as 145 deg F. I don't see any point in refluxing this garbage. After I've collected and discarded the crap then I open the reflux valve and let the equilibrium process happen.

Just my humble opinion
