wow, nice to be here!

Post by Froggyshine »

Hey, I'm another new guy!
From Europe, france, what a nice site you all have here.....First excuse my english which is sometimes dodgy!
I'm a novice in our favourite hobby, but I've done previously some nice stuff like different kinds of sweet wine (walnut, black elder flowers) and then a few "not too bad spirits" from melon, black elder and plum....And these days i'm beginning to make some from corn and barley...
The thing is I only have a small still that I bought in Portugal (Boiler can have about 5 liters....(sorry metric system here,...I think thats about 1 gal.)...So I'm planning on building a bigger one (at least ten gal.)...And well you all seem to know many tricks to fulfill that goal, and I'd be glad to learn from you!!! :D
Cheers!

Froggyshine, your English is better than many natives' :). I am also a newbie but already found that even though this is a predominantly American site, the folks here generally understand metric. I prefer metric because it avoids the ambiguity between UK and US gallons etc. (Not to mention that it is easier to work with :))

I never hit your problem with a file size limit (mentioned elsewhere), but I always scale down my pictures anyway to better fit on the screen and to avoid bandwidth hogging. It is easy even in basic picture editing software like MS Paint. I do not speak French and do not use Windows, so I cannot give you a rundown even in English, but look for menu options such as scale, resample, etc.

Don't worry I'll stay with the two systems to please everybody :D
It seems that it's only me that cannot post big pictures :( ....Must be my negative vibes with computers!
I'll try to find a way....Thanks a lot for your concern !! I'll work on that, I'll be happy to share these pixs of a nice alambic moving across the country.
I will surely find a computer geek who will help me for a nice bottle of melon spirit :D
