valver reflux condensor

I have read Building a world class still site about 3 times, and looked around here, but still cannot find the answer. Is there a cap on top of the condensor shell in a valved reflux still? I haven't seen anything that said that there was, but I just want to make sure. Great sites, I haven't used the internet this much for a long time, great reading material. Thanks
