Just saw the news and was shocked by the damage and deaths that the tornados have caused in US. My best wishes and prayers to all hit by this disasterous event and just hope that none of my friends (and enemies) are not caught up in this horrendous mess.

Hey guys, the flooding here and the Tornadoes south of here in Alabama is terrible. They are going to start blowing levee's here to try and save some homes and towns but will flood some very large farms. I am lucky I am on very high ground here. I can drive a 1/4 mile in 3 directions right now and hit the river. Many Many folks here that I know have lost everything due to flooding. The National guard is here and people are sandbagging everywhere. We had 11 inches of rain last week and more rain is in the forcast starting this evening. Luckily here we have had no deaths. We did have several Tornadoes here last week but nothing like Alabama. Mother nature seems to really be pissed off about something.

Had some pretty bad storms come through here but fortunately nothing like the states south of here. Had a lot of trees down in my neighborhood, lost power for about 18 hrs and a lot of hail. Several guys at work had significant hail damage to vehicles, the secretary at work said they want to total her car. One friend said he had a tornado about 4 miles from his house and hail did some pretty good damage to his roof. But all-in-all we came through pretty good, nothing like the devastation in Alabama.

Glad to hear your alright KS, this is just terrible news for Arkansas, Alabama, Kentucky, Mississippi and any of the other states I've missed. In fact if I think back I can't remember a time we had so many natural disasters around the world in the same year!

Mother nature trying to sake the fleas off!

I now have a friend in Arkansas and another in Alabama that have lost their houses. Luckily both and their families are safe. I've been praying for all the victims of this devastation. And also for the weather to clear.

Over 341 deaths so far due to the storms spanning 7 states with one tornado having created a path of destruction over 200 miles long... The sheer number of tornadoes is unprecedented in US recorded history... Multiple tornadoes on the ground in close proximity has also been happening far more frequently than ever before... I'm sure the storm chasers are amassing more data than they ever expected, not that it helps those whose lives have been impacted by the destruction they are documenting...

thanks for askin MuleKicker. im down here, but not in the path of disaster. we just got some heavy winds but thats about it.. my parrents are in tennessee and they were prepaired to head to the basement, but everything is ok there too.
my prayres and thoughts go out to those who was involved in this mess. yall keep your chin up!

Shit rad, that's a lot of deaths. I often wonder how people manage to 'start again' after this sort of destruction. There's more than enough with wars being constantly waged without nature kicking us all in the guts. One has to wonder whether it will ease of or get worse. Only time will tell I guess.
Stay safe all those being threatened now and into the future.

Our local television stations are asking for anyone with psychological therapy experience to volunteer to go into the hardest hit areas to help with that aspect... Search and Recovery people as well... I know several people who will most likely go as they have responded to almost every other recent disaster...

Thoughts and prayers.

Army Corps of Engineers Blew a 250 foot section of Levy about 15 Miles from where I live to off some flood relief for some populated areas. Mainly Cairo Ill. They used 250 pounds of liquid ordinance. I was in the shop working when they blew it and it shook my whole shop. the sound of the blast lasted about 6-8 seconds. Pretty amazing. It has dropped the flood levels only 1 foot. They are going to breach another section today. They are flooding farm land to prevent the flooding of cities. In Cairo Ill, and Paducah Ky, I live within 20 miles of each of these. The water is less than 1 foot from coming over the top of the flood walls. Water is 22" from going over the top of Kentucky Damn. There are areas flooding that have not flooded since 1937.

Been watching that on the news KS, got your copper stash up in the attic!!! Officials say that the Ohio and Mississippi rivers are above the highest flood levels ever recorded, damm thats alot of water, and I can't even get a little rain shower to help with the garden.

I saw on the news they blew a couple levies in Illinois to flood farms rather than risk damage by flooding to homes along the Mississippi!
