Help with a newbies first still!!!

Post by Jonny_rocket666 »

Hey Guys and Girls,

I did a batch of home brew with a mate about a month ago and its safe to say i'm hooked on the idea of making some spirits. I almost purchase a turbo 500 the other day but got put off by the price and the plastic in the condenser. After spending the last few days reading this forum I would love to make my own Boka style still but i did the figures the materials and getting access to the equipment and someone to weld and i don't come out that far in front. So I'm going to gown down the road of a store bought reflux still for now. I've narrowed it down to two condensers the Keggomax http://www.kegking.com.au/Downloads/Keg ... ochure.pdf and the Ultra pure still http://puredistilling.com/products/. I'm leaning towards the keggomax because of the the extra height (77cm vs 40cm approx) however the copper of the ultra pure still is attractive.
Just wanted to jump on here and introduce myself and get some advice from the old hands of which of those two to choose. I'm loking at buying in the next few days, if anyone knows where i can get these in Melbourne that would be awesome.

Cheers, Jonny

Welcome to the Forum.

Before you go the route your talking about on a still and
your sure you want to buy. Take the time to go to MilHi
and Brewhous. The see what some of our local builders can offer.

Nope. Don't make a cent off and of the above, but don't want you, maybe, getting
screwed.

Have fun in what we do and most important. Be safe!
