Brandy Question?

If I were to make a mash out of peaches instead of corn will I get a good peach flavor out in the end or will it just taste and smell like moonshine? I am using a pot still. I ask because if the fruit flavor is going to be minimal then I would rather make a sugar wash and flavor it with peaches at the end. What would you guys recommend?
