Wondering if the Flotec Tempest 1/6hp pump is overkill

My condenser pump just failed in the middle of a run minutes ago. I came across a Flotec Tempest 1/6hp pump that is practically being given away, here are the specs:

It states that it pumps over 1300 GPH and the flow rate is not adjustable so Im worried it would be too big for a bok setup...

two things you want to look for,, head this is the height it will pump to.
and with larger volume pumps dont restrict the volume,,instead make a bypass.
this is a simple T in the pressur line with a valve to return the excess water to tank.

From the data provided it will lift the water high enough, but it is a sump pump. Designed to shift large volumes of water with a 1" output hose. Not sure how it will respond to back pressure from small coils. Also did you notice the max water temperature of 25 degC? I have occasionally managed to get my water supply hotter than that. Much hotter on 1 occcasion on a cleaning run

I now use a water butt pump designed to pressurise an irrigation system. No controls on the pump or bypasses, I just pressurise the entire supply side to full mains pressure, and fit flow control valves on the output of each condenser. Much simpler IMO.
