Why are stills round? Why not square?

Why not triangular? Rectangular? It seams to me that a sheet metal brake could make fast work from a sheet of stainless steel. Pop rivets if you cant weld? Stainless screws? Square perf plates? Square bubble caps? Square tubing? Square site glasses?
Commercial ten inch stills are $40 -$50 Thousand ? More?
Give me a couple of days with a couple of sheets of stainless steel, a brake and my Tig ????
If structured packing works great on a small diameter why not at Ten inch? Twelve inch? Twenty four inch?
I know I probably drive you smart guys crazy. Tell me why these are crazy ideas??
The booze isn’t working. Maybe valium or something stronger will be required.
