I wish I would have tried this before I purchased my 3 gal. still. I went to Google, and typed in "Home Copper Still for Sale" then hit images, and what came up was a whole lot of pics. Just scroll down until you see one you like, good chance it is for sale somewhere.. Happy hunting..

Word to the wise. Yes you may find a still you like the looks of this way. But that doesn't make it a good still to buy. Many out there pray on uneducated. Hiding behind the mask of the fact it is illegal to distill. In most locations. So they can sell you junk and not worry about you coming after them.

You are better off going to one of the reputable supply houses to buy a still that will be backed. Or finding a reputable builder from here at HD that will build you a still.

Or the best yet. Build it your self. It's not hard. Some designs are very easy to assemble. There are many plans that ate known to work around here. And you know what was used in its building. Whether its safe or not. And it makes you just that much more proud of it knowing you built it.

+1 on what has been said, go to the pot or reflux still designs and read through the threads depending on what you want to make. We have had a lot of members burnt not going to a respectable vendor. Ask questions before you buy or build and you can save a lot of money.

Thanks for the welcome, and I have already bought me a copper still. A little to small, now that I have started asking questions about it, but it is on its way already, so not much I can do about it now. The one good thing about this still, is I will be able to copy it, and make a bigger still later down the road. I, probably like a lot of other folks, thought it was best to start small, so I went small. I try to learn from my mistakes, so I hope this will be a lesson learnt. Also went by the new distillery in Greenville, SC, but it was closed, it uses the same hours as our state laws require for ABC stores.. But I am gonna get into this as a hobby, and hope that I can get as much help as needed, and if you knew me, you would say "That boy sure does need some help" LOL
