still parts question

after alot of reading and research on here i've decided to build a boka. I'm usuing a 15.5 gallon keg , 2 inch copper with the colmn being probably somewhere in the 40 to 48 inch range. Also, after hearing alot of different people say not to cut the keg, i've decided to leave it as it is and buy a 2 inch ferrule and 2 inch tri clamp. I've got just about all the stuff i need to start my build except except a 2 inch ferrule and a tri clamp for my keg. My question is, where on the internet is the best place to buy these parts and is there any thing else that i might need that i may be over looking? I've looked on milehigh,st.patrick's and onother one (can't thunk of the name right now) but was hoping other people on here may have delt with a particular place with good results.

Hillbillystills.
Owned by one of our own. Kentucky Shiner
I would just get a triclamp. And make an easy flange on the bottom of your 2". Search for easy flange. There are a couple good threads on it.

yea, i've read the thread about the easy flange, just don't really want to chance any leaks and figured the ferrule would be easier anyway, just weld it to the 2 inch and connect with the tri clamp.

Suit yourself. I have 7 on my still. No leaks. And a hell of a lot of money saved.
KS can get you hooked up.

which ferrule is better to use, the short or the long or does it matter?

Not that I know of. The short won't take as much effort to get it into place. But I haven't used them. So maybe someone who has can comment on it.

the long are only about an inch of "neck" and a dollar more.. If there is wiggle room it will be less likely to come out angled.. depending on the schedule of your pipe it could be snug or fit loosely...2" DWV is 2.041 ID and flanges are 2" OD.. that leaves a margin of 0.041" wiggle room.. I purchased the long since I couldnt see any benefits of the short fittings.
