I was wondering whether anyone had suggestions for the addition of a Gin Basket to my pot still pictured below. I would prefer to make it out of SS and the cost is not really of concern (I have access to cheap SS). Ta

Probably just above the boiler, under the column section. I assume that i will use a couple of triclover clamps to hold one in place but is it as simple as adding a section that has some heavy gage mesh welded in place?
Does it need an expanded chamber?
do you need a pressure relief valve below it?
can you fill it completely with botanicals?

Here is my double OO flavor shotgun shell. It goes in the top of my shotgun condenser. Clamped in place between two easy flanges and a triclamp. It mite give you an idea?

hey mr.piss
so that looks to be the size of a liter?
how many gallons of wash can that size of a basket handle (full) before the flavouring is extracted?
do you notice when making the cuts that the flavouring just stops?

PP, I am doing something similar with my dephlag, going to cut down a 4" x 6" copper pipe and put a plate on it so I can slip it inside the top of the column and use with a tri-clamp to hold it in place.

Truthfully I have not used it yet. So sory I can't answer that question. I built it in my design because I knew I would one day want to use it. I haven't gotten to that point yet.

The basket is about 2.5" x 4" if I remember correctly. I just thought it would give you an idea.

Bushman don't hold back on us. :lolno:
