stalled rum wash from infection

My wash stalled and I'm pretty sure it's because it got infected. Would I be safe to take this and boil, rack off and reuse? Or should I just scrap and start over? Just hated to waste 1.5 gallons of good molasses. Also what should I clean my plastic fermenter with? Been using just plain hot water, but I think it caught up with me.
