smells and flavors of sweet feed mash....
Ive made a few runs with sweet feed and it comes out with a sour wine smell. It proofs at 130 to 110. Am i doing something wrong. I dont know if it was the turbos i used but i dont like the smell, good strong taste but bad smell. Also what are some different ways to flavor it? I made some apple pie and thats great but just wondering if others add something to give it a taste. Just wondering.

What kind of ABV was the wash? I think turbo deffinately had something to do with it. I wouldnt use a turbo on anything, let alone something i wanted to leave any flavor in.

Turbo yeast is not meant to be used with other ingredients like grains or cereals that provide nutrients... Also, turbo washes should only be run through reflux columns for neutral spirits, not pot stills for flavored spirits, because refluxing helps remove those off tastes and smells... Most folks wouldn't bother using turbos at all...
