It doesn't get better as far as I'm concerned..... I just got a box of the Liga Privada Undercrown (Gran Toro) and I'm really looking forward to setting fire to one. Letting them rest just a little first though.
Any more Brothers of the leaf here?

Man... I stopped smoking cigars when I started having kids almost 7 yrs ago. I do miss the leaf...I always enjoyed Cuban Crafters cigars. Excellent prices for the quality of them thar seegars.

I have a medium size humidor half filled with good cigars. My father and I built the humidor a couple years before he died. Actually, he watched me build it but it was wonderful to spend that time together with him. So about once a month when the weather's nice, I'll light up a cigar, sit on my deck with a home-made bourbon, look out over the valley and think of my father. He couldn't smoke (COPD) but he did enjoy my HM bourbon now and then.

That's a Great memory and a wonderful tradition... Life is short and difficult even in the best of circumstances. We should all be able to enjoy a few simple pleasures (not just cigar and drink lol). To my way of thinking, It is the times you describe that mean the most to us... and we will remember in later years.

I some like 3 to 4 cigars per day. Mostly Dutch cigars from Indonesian and Brazilian tobacco. Not a long filler man. Like a cigar that I can finish like 20 minutes. Tonight, I will light one up and have an oats whiskey next to that. Or maybe a genever? Hmmm ... my new pure Scotch ain't bad either ...

@Odin.. No criticism from me brother... although I'm a long filler man myself. I will usually have one cigar a day. These are my "everyday" cigars that cost probably $3 in bulk.
Special occasions DO call for one of the "good ones" and a nice scotch or bourbon. I try my best to find special occasions..

Today is Friday. That's pretty special.

Yup! It only comes once a week! Not to mention I'm off fridays.....

I enjoy one or two a day. I like the Sumatra and Habano wrappers.

Unfortunately, I have to go for the cheap ones. The Quorum's are not bad for a Sumatra. The Thompson Explorer is a real good Habano. For a special occasion, I like the Perdomo Lot 23 Maduro...

I hear you Pa..... we do what we gotta do. I have found that just because a cigar cost alot doesnt mean it's good. Smoke on brother......

Mmmm... Ligas... I've only had the 9, T52, rat and pig. Kinda been off my game. I smoke cigars six months a year. Every spring they taste sweeter. Big fan of padillas and anything pepin.. Tatuajes are delicious. Last cigar I smoked before it got cold was a La Risqueza covered in plume. I was drinkin Gonzo porter (my favorite beer with cigars.. F the barrel aged version). Smoke one for me if you don't mind. I miss my leafy friends.

Yup.. love all the Liga line up. Wish the flying pigs could still be found! for that matter... some of the just released Feral pigs would be nice too but, its like looking for buried treasure.
All those sticks you mention are good ones. Although I never heard of the La Risqueza
Fortunately I live where the climate is not a issue! Hopfully your "leafy friends" will be back soon.

Yeah, but they are actually Dutch cigars. Made from sumatra, I believe. Not to big a bit spicey. I like them.

Big time! My favorite are madura's 50-54 ring 6" ish. Honduran are probably my favorite but I also like DR and Nicaraguans. I have Cubans but actually prefer Central American cigars. I think many Cubans are overrated, plus there are basically no Cuban madura's. My rotation are ERDM, Punch, HDMR, JR Ultimate and others. I buy mostly from JR Cigar and their Consuegra brand of true seconds of the brands named are an excellent buy. Mike's Cigars in Miami sells Old Fashioned's, also true seconds at 50% saving over the firsts and you won't know the difference.

Well, not having access to cuban's, I am limited... but I do think that there is a little over hype there. Some will say that is blasphemy.
Dont get me wrong... I know tht there are wonderful cubans just like there are wonderful NC's....... Anyway...... I smoke mostly Nicaraguan. Joya de Nicaraguan is my go to brand but, I enjoy a good smoke from anywhere sounds like you have found a couple good sources for the true seconds. With that price of cigars these days... gotta find deals when we can.

been enjoying my 4th-gen UJSSM aged for 2months with some of my partagas, or more recently montecristo #4's. haven't had much chance to try any non-cubans. my local store is very expensive and online stores in canada aren't the best for prices. the US has many many more options IMO. I'm also a fan of Jose L. Piedra's. They're cheap machine made cubans but I like them and think they're a good deal for how cheap they are. probably going to go to cuba some time soon just to fill up my humidor, lol.

Warr... you ever get on the forum over at "cigar aficionado" ? they do some box splits and PIF's that can make getting some NC's alot less expensive. There are alot of Brethren from the Great White North on there... Any way, your making me jealous not Just with your cubans.... But mostly with your 4th Gen. UJSSM. I'll get there one day.... David
