Does column have to be in the center of boiler lid?

Putting older posts here. Going to try to keep the novice forum pruned about 90 days work. The 'good' old stuff is going to be put into appropriate forums.

Does column have to be in the center of boiler lid?

Post by durgan »

I am planning a boka build and I have a Stainless Steel pot with pretty sturdy lid. The lid has a handle on it in the center. Can I place the column off center so that I can keep the handle in place? It does not seem like this would make much difference other than stability but I am not sure.

Thanks mentors

I plan on using the pot for all grain beer brewing and I figure I can cap off the fitting on the lid and keep the handle in place.
