It's been a while.

Hey there folks
I have been away from my still for a few years now (I know, too long!- discovered the joys of renovating my house and finishing my electrical engineering degree), but am currently putting together my new column. I was a member of the old Yahoo group, and I recognise a few of you from there, good to see you are all still so passionate about our great hobby.
Should be brazing the column up on Monday, and will make sure i take some pics of the build. I designed it years ago and it's been sitting on my to do list for ages. Design is LM, with SSR controller on dual elements (1800 and 600W) giving a sorta vapour management too (vapour speed), with an air cooled condenser and needle valve outlet. Also putting in some nice electronics to change over from both elements to temp control (either element can be manually selected), and also shut it down when the head gets to 90deg. Pot is custom built 32L 316 stainless, column is 1mx 50mm copper, except for the needle valve, which is 316 stainless. Air cooling is fan assisted through 1/2" cross flowing copper pipes (12 in total). Picture says 1000 words, so will get some up soon.
Looking forward to sharing my resluts with you.
Cheers
Benja
