Cheap Tri-clamp adapter for Electric Elements

Found an interesting product today when I was researching conical fermenters (not so much for wash but for beer brewing  )

Its a 1.5" Tri-clamp to 1" NSP (straight pipe thread) adapter . 1" NSP is the thread on electric elements, so you can probably see where I'm going with this. Certainly not necessary, as a 1" SS Lock Nut from Mcmaster got the job done for me... but if you're doing/having work done on your keg and want to throw one of these in the mix to make your element quickly and easily detachable/changeable its an interesting choice. Also, it could be very useful for adapting the ports on your keg for different purposes. At $15 I think its perhaps not 'cheap,' but definitely reasonable for such a custom application.

Adapter is at the bottom of the page:

I've also found their other products, esp. triclamp related, to be very reasonably priced.

Enjoy!

I'm tryin to stay away from plastics because I'm a paranoid freak :) Actually, I'd be fine with plastic for wash and/or primary brewing in general... but since I want to use the conical for long-term beer/wine brewing I went stainless. :D

Here's a pic of my new toy... just came in yesterday.

14.5g capacity... might be able to handle up to 12gal with that blow off tube... we'll have to see
