Pot still - thumper/slobber box combo

Hello,
For the past year I've been running a very basic pot still. Getting good results and learning more every batch I make. The still (as I mentioned) is very basic: 6 gallon boiler, 1/2 gallon slobber box, and a condenser. I am currently redesigning the still and adding a 2.5 gallon copper thumper. I am not sure if I want to keep the slobber box on the still now that I'm adding the thumper. Is there any point? I've not been able to find anybody on this site running a pot still with both a slobber box AND thumper so I'm kind of guessing it's pointless.
