Camco Universal Adapter kit safety question

I recently bought a Camco Universal Adapter kit (m/n: 07223).
From the picture on the website the flange was silver not this purple shining yellow stuff.
If anyone could inform me on what material it is coated with and made of, and if it is safe to mount my heater element.
I will be using music cork as the gasket and stainless steel bolts, so those won't be a factor.
This is the adapter flange I received.

I just received an email back from camco manufacturing and they've confirmed it is zinc-plated steel. I thought zinc was dangerous, or is it not in a high enough concentration in this situation?

Edit: I Know it is made to be submersed inside your water heater tank, where you may drink that water, but I'm just concerned the fermented product may be acidic and dissolve some zinc into my product. Thanks

It never comes into contact with high proof alcohol vapor so it should be safe... But if in doubt, do without...

@ dennis6790,

I doubt the information you received from Camco Manufacturing because from the graphic posted in your original posting in this thread it appears your Camco Universal Adapter is Cadmium Plated and not Zinc Plated. That yellow golden huge is a tell-tale sign of Cadmium Plating not Zinc Plating.

That being said the State of California considers both Cadmium Plating and Zinc Plating chemicals known to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
