Solderless Copper Bonding

Has anyone tried JUST-FOR-COPPER? Here is what the manufacturer says about it:

JUST-FOR-COPPER™ / JACO™ Solderless Copper Bonding provides a cold weld between rigid copper pipe and copper fittings and connectors. It is as permanent and durable as a hot solder weld, and is an innovative solution to the time consuming and potentially dangerous hot soldering method of connecting rigid copper pipe to connectors and fittings.

JUST-FOR-COPPER™ Solderless Copper Bonding is the easiest, fastest way (up to 70% faster than hot solder welding) to permanently install or repair rigid copper pipe in residential homes, apartments, farms, barns, office buildings, strip shopping centers, shopping malls, and industrial complexes.

It can be used on all rigid copper pipes, fittings, and connectors that carry water, including potable water, as well as natural and LPG gas.

FEATURES & BENEFITS:

Saves 70% in installation and repair time
Easy to use by professional or DIY'er
Non-toxic and 100% safe to use on potable water as well as natural and LPG gas copper lines
Safe to use -- no fire or burn risk compared to open flame soldering
No taste or odor when cured
Superior weld strength! 500 psi official rating

You can find it at: http://www.justforcopper.com/cb1.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

Let me know if it can be used in still making.

I understand the value of a product like this when heat could affect the surroundings, but soldering is not that hard and why take risks ?
The least chemichals are in contact with your product, the better it is !

I used something called JB Waterweld to add viewing ports to my boiler. I'm guessing it is probably similiar to "Just for copper." It is a good sealant, and it has held up to many distillations. However, as my soldering skills have improved, I'd probably use solder if I were to make the same type of connection today.

Traditional JB weld would leach into the product, JB waterweld is a bit different. From the JB weld site:

WATERWELD can be formed, drilled, ground, tapped, machined, filled, sanded, and painted. It stays pliable for about 2 minutes after mixing, sets in just 20 minutes, and cures fully in just a few hours. It's water-proof; petroleum-, chemical-, and acid-resistent; resists shock, vibration, and extreme temperature fluctuations, and withstands temperatures up to 300º F. WATERWELD is super strong, non-toxic, and safe to use. Before it sets, you can clean up with soap and water. (print out instruction sheet)

WATERWELD is approved by the National Sanitation Foundation for use with potable water (meaning you can drink safely from fresh water pipes or utinsels repaired with it).
