cleaning a keg still

OK, I saw it somewhere once, but I can't find it again. Once I get a keg and have the threaded port for the heating element, what do I do with the top of the keg? I can build the couple and buy the clamp. Do I pour the mash in through the sanke? How do I scrub it clean after the run? Do I cut the top of the keg and bolt it back on or something?
