Ethernet and iPad question

I am leaving this Sunday for a short 3 week vacation/golf trip to California, hope to take in a few wineries along the way. I belong to WorldMark and plan in staying 2-4 nights in different condo's during the trip. The condo's provide free Internet through an Ethernet box you check out at the office. In the past I have always used either my lap top or netpad, both are slower than my ipad and I was wondering if anyone has used the "airport express" with ethernet and how they like it or would a wifi router work better to take along?

I have the newest version with 4G but am not paying for the Internet hookup as I have a wireless router at home. Where I am going has Internet through an Ethernet connection so my iPad will only work if I bring a wireless router or I think this airport express will work. That is my question to the members.

The airport express is a wireless router and should work fine. We used them at work for the Mac air and iPads, neither of which have Ethernet rj-45 ports and they just extended the existing network.
If you have the time I highly recommend the tasting and tour at St George distillery In Alameda(makers of hangar one vodka) as well as if you get to Santa Rosa, go spend an evening at Russian River Brewing.
It's a great time to visit with our late summer weather and the harvest going on

Thanks for the tips, that is very close to where I will be the first 4 nights before I head to Southern California.

Hi Bushman. I concur. The airport basically is a router. I just switched from a gateway router to the Airport extreme and seems to work great on the ipad, iphone, laptop, printer etc... You can download the free Airport utility app and manage your connections as well (set passwords, see who's logged on to your connection, etc..) have fun!!!
