Three from KC.
Arthur Briants is known for their burnt ends not the brisket. Not fond of their sauce to gritty and to much pepreeka for me.
Jack stack is good. The beans are awesome.
Oklahoma Joe's I have not tried. Lot of people talk about it. But I tend to stick with the little hole in the wall joints.

Like Quicks, 7th st Quicks, and Big Q.
There is also LC's over on the MO side. Not much to look at. But the food is awesome and big portions.

But then again we have BarBQ joints on every corner. And new ones open all the time.

And I can't go without giving my friend Bob some props. Down at Papa Bob's. Where we met up with Big R.

Maybe 12-20 USD. In my experience its usually comparable to about any midpriced sit down meal and sometimes cheaper. Things like ribs are generally more expensive, but, thats true anywhere. Good Q is cheaper than a good steak.

Get a smoker and give it a try. I'm sure theres plenty of people here who could steer you towards the right recipes and seasonings. It's really not all that complicated, espescially if you're using a gas smoker (shush elitists).

All the real BarBQ places around here are pretty close in price. We have some that are more like applebees that I don't consider real BarBQ joints.

Full rack of ribs. $19.99 all the placeshift one day a week rack specials. At $15. Prices change with the market.
Sandwich choice of one meat
Reg $5 bread
Med $6 bun
Lrg $7 bun
Combo of two meats.
Red $6 bread
Med $7 bun
Lrg $8 bun
Combo platter some ribs, two meats, and side dish. $12 to $14
Burnt end dinner $9 to $11.
Sides beans, fries, slaw, or whatever they have. $2

As you can tell I spend a little to much time eating BarBQ. But its so damn good.
