There are some great calculators on the calc page: http://homedistiller.org/calcs" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow

However, I thought there might be a simple formula for diluting alcohol to both a desired volume and proof. Turns out there is:

(Dv * Dp) / Ap = Av

Where Dv: Desired Volume, Dp: Desired Proof, Ap: Alcohol Proof, Av: Alcohol volume to add water up to desired volume, resulting in desired proof.

Example: I have a product at 150 proof (Ap), and I want to water it down to fill 1 liter bottles (Dv) at 100 proof (Dp).

(1 liter * 100 proof) / 150 proof = .66 liters.

So, measure out .66 liters of booze & fill up to 1 liter, and you get the desired proof. Hope this is helpful to someone!
