Thanks guys. I figure I might as well get things going while I have a good chance. I have been given some great advice and things are turning out quite nicely. Would have never happened like this without you all and the brains behind your experience for me to learn from.
Hopefully I can do both cleaning runs today!

So should this allow you to do a single run from the original wash?

Ive been doing single runs with my MileHi. Havent done a stripping run yet. Either low and slow for neutrals for fast and furious for whiskeys. Im thinking this will do good with getting my point abv and tame the flavor a bit. especially on sour mash runs after the first generation.

Tower in Whiskey Mode also a pic of my modified Temp port. In neutral I didnt need a temp as the plates and output told me what was going on but it will be nice to have a temp reading anyhow.

It seems it does. With my mile high I am lucky to get a drop every 2 seconds to achieve 93%. I ran 94 in my still dragon setup with a pencil lead sized stream. Mile high, 9-12 hours for a run. StillDragon 4 hours. I also had a leaking problem with my bubble plates leaking down to each other. This may have been due to im only using 1500wats for heat. I think I may have found another issue with the adjustable downcomer and I will discuss this with Still dragon and it should be an easy fix. As soon as I get my new plates ( hopefully in the next day or two I should be able to run better ABV at a even faster rate.
This setup is truly amazing.

Yeah man, those mile hi stills are junk! You should just box it up and send it to me and I'll dispose of it properly for ya
Glad you like the SD. Hope you get the issues worked out soon.
Once again, I'm jealous!!!

The MileHi is good and efficient for a pot still but I wont use it for a neutral again. Especially after the SD still. Now thats not so say I dont like that tower, I just like the efficiency and the ease of a higher ABV neutral with my new tower. The verdict will be in after I run my watermelon brandy that is ready to run. I have a friend upstate that I may lend my MileHi tower to. He needs a smaller tower. IF I could just talk him into trading me his 13 gallon boiler for my 8 and he can keep both the towers id be in Heaven. LOL

Maximum flavor of watermelon from 90-80. Awesome. After dilution the flavor was still strong and made right at a gallon. Hells yeah.

Nice reports. I'm glad to see some more reports of increased speed and efficiency from the bubble balls under a column.

HawkingRage, I know it might not look as nice as the milk can, but you could go with a keg boiler for a fairly reasonable price and it would be 15.5 gallons. I'm very happy to hear your good results in speeding up your stillin times. I have been giving some pretty serious thought lately to a stilldragon torpedo ball to my 2" potstill, in fact I also have a 2" BOK, it would speed it up as well. WORTH EVERY PENNY DUE TO TIME SAVINGS

You raise a very good point. Now the only thing that I really need to be honest with my self is, Do I really need more than what I am making? Not to mention I have 5, 8 gallon fermenters and the fermenters compliment the boiler the best for me. I really cant imagine doing more and still times dropped below 6 hours really gives me some good points with the wife. I really do enjoy just making enough for me and the few friends I have. Good thing I dont have more than a couple friends, They dont want to go buy anymore and like my stuff much better anyhow.

Good point, the best thing about having a little extra, is so you can put some up on oak and truly let it age. It really isn't too big when it comes to putting a little back. I pretty much drink nothing but my own now. And if you have to wait on it to age, you (I) need that little extra. Enjoy that still. It looks really nice

I didnt, but the water remained cool enough that I wouldnt want to swim in it. I cant imagine it raised much more than a couple degrees. I could look at the bottom of the barrel and see what looked like smoke in the water. This had to be warmer water going into the mix but it quickly disipated by the cool water around it. I think that 50 gallons of water may be the magic number. Maybe tomorrow Ill do a start and end on a whiskey run. Then after a couple weeks ill let you know on a BW run. I think the BW run would raise the temp just a little more. We will see.
