Switching from gas to electric heat

I currently have a keg still that I heat with gas. I have heard that electric is the way to go and much less hassle. I have done a bit of research on here but havent been able to come up with the best design. I have access to both 120v and 220v power so it really doesnt matter to me wich one I use. It seems as though the best way to go would be with 2 (1500 w)heating elements. Is that correct?? What is the general consensus on controllers? Im not a cheap skate but would still like to get the best bang for the buck as well as the easiest to use. I have a decent electronics and electrical background so building/assembling should be a problem. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you. Oh yeah, I have a valved reflux still if that matters.

If you have access to 240V you would be better off using a single element in the 4500W - 5500W range with a phase angle controller based on one of the many designs here in these forums... This would give you the greatest amount of power control and would be more cost effective...

Do you know your burner BTU? May be 3.0-3.5kW will do the same heat for your still as burner.
As Bout controller look here
