Legal Home Distilling of Ethol Alcohol

Post by birdwatcher »

1. In what countries is the subject legal for personal consumption besides New Zealand and Sweden.

2. I understand there was a recent court case in Kingston Ontario Canada, where the judge dismissed the accused (one of us) stating "There was no offence as long as the accused was using his product for personal use". If however he was caught selling his product, he would "throw the book at him"

Can anyone enlighten me of the details of this case. Date, who etc.

Thanks.

George

Hello.
I'm Swedish, so I'll have to correct you on that. Distilling is not legal in Sweden, but due to our tradition in high alcohol taxes, we have developed a tradition in moonshining...
I think it's the same for Norway.

I believe it is the same in the US. Ownership of the still is fine. It is distillation of spirits which the feds frown upon. Cuts into their revenue.

I think extraction with ethanol would be easier. and thc has a higher boiling point then alcohol
-I have too much blood in my alcohol system-

I tried that once stoker, and it was the most vile stuff EVER to pass my lips and the headache was astronomical. Perhaps I did something wrong, but I'll never do it again.

Perhaps wisdom does indeed come with age:) :) :) :)

Supercritical butane is the best and cleanest, IMO, for THC.

DO NOT use PVC for an extraction tube. Stainless steel (300 series) or borosilicate glass are the only absolutely safe materials. Stainless is better because you can earth it and eliminate any static sparks, especially during dry weather, which can cause the butane to go BOOM! (And I mean BOOM!)

Only use triple refined butane (or better). 'Newport' brand is about the best.

But why waste your time with butane?

Plain ethanol is a far better choice as an extraction fluid. At least 70% abv, higher strength is better. Do not use de-natured ethanol.

So I'm told.
