Sweet, vanilla flavoured "vodka"?

Post by CoopsOz »

G'day all,
On one of my recent efforts, I managed to jag a very nice sweet "vodka". I am using a Bokakob Inline with a column of 1100mm and then a condenser coil of about 300mm. My usual results are not completely neutral but after carbon filtering...they are o.k.
This particular batch came off at 84%, very strong vanilla smell/taste and quite sweet. I liked it so much that I didn't filter it at all. I have passed it around (after diluting) and everyone seems to like it.

Now, my problem....how do I replicate. Is it just simply too much sugar in my wash? Did I distill before all sugar was converted? Perhaps I ran the still too hot. Any ideas?

I stopped taking notes.....I thought I knew everything! :D
