All Grain ABV?

Is 13%+ to high to shoot for an all grain such as a sweetfeed wash or should it be best to stay around 9-10% ?

Reason I'm asking is I put 4" AG sweetfeed, 7lbs sugar, 8 Tbs Distillers yeast, some yeast nutrient (5Tbs), per 6 gal. recipe.
SG was 1.060. From what i figure a posible 8% ABV. Not quite what I wanted but lets see what happens. Okay.
It petered out at an FG of 1.010 (around 7% ?) in less than 24 hours

I have been told that for an all grain recipe I should have had an SG of 1.100 and an FG at .990. Which would give me around 13%ABV meaning I was 5lbs short on sugar

Then I was told to high ABV% for a good grain likker. It should be no more than 1.080SG and .990FG for about 10%ABV which puts me 2.5lbs. short on sugar

First off, can you achieve a .990 with a grain ? And which is right ? Or is both? Should I have not added the nutrient to an AG?

you'd better off trying for 5=7% to start unless you have mashed befor.
ok came back for correction,,your not doing a AG and not a mash. thats a sugar head.
id keep it around 10%
its the molasses that is keeping it from going below 1.(any thing that does not ferment can/will affect the SG...
