Hey guys/gals

I'm new to brewing/distilling. It's has been something I have wanted to tinker with for some time. I figured I would go ahead and start. I have a batch of strawberries that I'm letting ferment (going on three weeks) as well as a corn mash that has been fermenting for about two days now.

I'm looking forward to learning as much as I can.

Strawberries and corn, sounds like a pot still is in your future...

Strawberries make a really good wine but I've personally never gone the next step. Let us know how it goes and if its good share that recipe.

Absolutely! I have already completed one run with my quick and dirty still. SS 7qt Pot using 3/8 OD Soft Copper Coil that runs into a modified cooler with a water circulation setup. I do have a silicon gasket on the SS Pot. It has come to my attention that it needs to be removed ASAP!! That will be done before my second run. I'll probably just use the flour paste and pinch method to seal the pot or a home made Teflon gasket.

Making a gasket with PTFE tape for a stockpot is a royal pain. I know I make one for my 42qt pot.

You can buy rolls of cork at most office supply stores if you have a way to cut a gasket from that, and if the roll is big enough. Flour paste works well also.

Don't dick around... Just use flour paste and binder clips be done with it...
