I was looking at this earlier.. Looks like a good idea instead of opening and checking with the hydro- you can just set it and forget it

What you guys think?
It gave me an idea too.. What if you put foil strips on a hydro and calibrated it to go off at a certain sg.. Hook it up to a led or something like that

Personnally, I would save my money use a glass hydrometer, and a pen and paper,
but that's just me, I don't see the point in this except for being really lazy, or if you are brewing BIIIG batches of beer and it was hard to accesss the top
I just check the SG when I'm giving my Wash a stir to decarbonise it

The thing is like with birdwatchers.. I don't really need to stir it up- It goes from 1.08-1.09 start to around 1.01 in 9 days usually.. then it slows and drops down around 0.025 a day till done
I would rather not even open it up.. I clean the keg out really good and there is no contamination starting- keep it clean when checking but I have to remove the movers blanket and wipe down the lid real good before taking a measurement.. I think I'm going to try and make a led that goes off at 1.01 and 0.995
Yeah that guy is making it way too expensive.. But I like the idea
