I realize it may not actually freeze but can I try?

I've been using the Sweet Feed formula and getting good results. However, I do not have time (or need for the quantity) to do multiple generations. So my choices are I do a new, from scratch, start each time, or I do i take the wash from gen 1 and freeze it and start fermenting gen 2 and freeze it.... I know I will not have any backset, but would this produce better results than starting from scratch each time?

Use a sterilized mason jar and scoop some lees (the white stuff) off the very bottom and save it in your fridge (not freezer). Cover the whats left (lees/grain) with water and airlock it. Freeze the backset from last strip/wash run to use later. So long as your airlocked leftovers don't get an infection...you can pick up where you left off. Thaw the backset, add sugar/water and bing the mason jar to room temp, and pitch it for 2nd gen yeast. If you get an infection...dump the fermenter, add fresh grain..and use the frozen backset in it and your 2nd gen yeast from the mason jar.
