I'd like to say hello and introduce myself.
I've brewed and run a few batches and like life.The more you learn the more you know what you don't know.

I'd like to brew some good quality corn whiskey and some burbon. Not going for volume, just some homemade stuff to impress myself and my son. I like baking buscuits, bread and such so this isn't far off theoretically.

I made a figure 4 pot sill like the one i thebook "Making Fine Spirits".

Alot of great info and tips here and I'd like to thank all those that freely contribute info often learned at the cost of ruined batches, burned fingers, and much time and effort.

I probably won't be contributing anything of any value for some time untill I get my system and skills up .

I am pretty new here too, but have learned more reading this forum and talkin' to the fine folks in here than I could have learned on my own in a year. Read everything you can in here. There is sure a ton of information and experience to be taken advantage of.

You aint wrong about learnin (bad English for effect). It's the information age. No more stone atblets and learning everything the hard way or from your mentor,journyman or master tradesman. You just have to click, read, and then practice.

Commining from a gunsmithing background precision was a big thing as was following standard procedures. Now it's more creativity and a chance to use some of that anal retentive "measuring twice and then once more before cutting" to a fun use. No profit required (or allowed) so alot less stress.

The worse that can happen is the deer get and extra feed of corn with some of the starch missing and the septic gets a yeast charge to keep the "brown trout " happy!

My son thinks this is real rednecking but I see it as making liquid biscuits or cornbread witha kick. Quote me if you like

Welcome, gunsmithing would be another fun hobby. I am sure with your background you will be able to help some folks right off the bat. The one thing I love about these forums is the different backgrounds people come with that add to the way we do and think about things.
