A ? about going electric...
I'm looking to swap to electric for the "easy" factor. My question is, can I use a SS 1/2 coupling welded on the keg? The threads on the elements I see are 1" NPSM. I assume this means that they dont taper and rely on the gasket to seal. Which means you need enough of a seat for the gasket to mate to. I know some here use something like the kit that KS sells and it does offer benefits (for cleaning out ect.) but I'm a cheap bastid...
So anyone use a half coupling???

Lot's of folks use a half coupling with a little teflon tape on the threads....... it seems though that some elements seem to mate to the coupling threads better than others........
