Home Distiller

New member here, just wanting to introduce myself. I am using an all copper 10 gal pot still. I have been distilling for about a year using sugar washes with mixed results. Finally finished a few other projects and am looking to take my skills to the next level! Been reading around the home site as well as here and really enjoy all the good info. Presently I have a batch of UJSSM that should be ready in another day or so, will post results.

Got a batch of UJSSM ready to go in the mornin! Took it out of the barrel tonight to let it clear overnight. Will post my results as well as some pics when I get it fired up!

The original instructions say to save everything you collected and through it back in with your second generation but personally I would save the hearts. Let us know how it comes out and would love to see your 10 gallon copper boiler.

Got done with my first run of UJSSM! Got about one and a quarter gals. Am definatly saving the hearts, really a nice smooth taste. The rest goes into the next run. Still waiting for the wash to cool down to add back to the fermenter. Noticed the heads trailed out real gradual but the tails came real suddenly. Overall went real good with no major troubles. I was wondering though if anyone had a few bits of advice on judging proof by looking at the beads? I have tried a few searches for posts regarding this and so far no luck. Any words would be appreciated.
