Hi all I did an introductory post some weeks back and have been lurking, reading, and studying regularly since then. This will be my first post since the introduction. I am an instrumentation engineer in the process industries and have to deal with materials and their application in relation to heat and corrosion. Let me state that I do not have direct experience in the food and beverage industries. One of my go to sources for material applications is the following:
Chemical Resistance Chart
PN 41-6018/rev.C
January 2010
Rosemount Analytical
Emerson Process Management
The main point I want to make is that according to this respected resource SILICONE is not compatible with beer, wine, whisky, ethanol, or methanol above ROOM TEMPERATURE.
