What is the longest you have ever let some stuff air out?

I let a batch of All bran i ran, air out for almost a month now, in unheated garage with just coffe filters, I was shocked at how mych better it tasted? The hearts where almost swweet tasting!

I will be checking tommorow to see how much alcohol i lost? It was pretty high abv to begin, so im guessing it will have not lost much with it being cold too.

I have done 4 weeks, that was probably the longest I have ever done. Typically, I distill one weekend and cut the next weekend but if I get busy or go out of town then it waits two weeks or longer.

I've done 3 weeks by mistake. Glad it was in the winter. So I didn't loose much. I lost less with that one then I did with one that only aired for 3 days in the summer.

okay product went from 180 down to 170. i can live with that for what i think i gained in nose and flavor!

just wonder how i will duplicate this when its not 30-40 degrees in my garage? i guess i will have to take readings every other day when it hot outside?

7-10 dasy - just lazy or busy.
I find it easier to make good cuts after 24-48 hours - less burning nose sting but you can still smell the contents ok, beyond that IMHO you have to agitate the contents to be able to get a good wiff of what's in there and, more likely need to dilute and taste every jar.

For the record; my tried and true recipes i can virtually cut straight off my still by temp and smell, unknowns i would normally do by smell except vodka (i dilute and taste everything) or the deep tails of some whiskey's that i will always dilute to find the wet-dog and see if there are groovy tastes hiding there i might want to blend in.

maybe get a dorm fridge for the garage dont know if it will work the same or how far you can get it to go down
